Weather in Singapore
Singapore is located close to equator and remains hot and humid throughout the whole year. The weather in Singapore is mostly sunny with frequent rains.
The city sees two rainy seasons during the year:
- the southwest monsoon season between June and September
- the northeast monsoon season between December and January
The best time to visit Singapore is between February and April when the weather is less rainy and humid than during the other months. The longest rains and stronger winds occur during the period from November till January.
Weather in Singapore by month
May is the last month before the summer monsoon and is one of the hottest months of the year. It offers a lot of sunshine and frequent short rains, which usually occur in the afternoons. May offers around 9 hours of sunshine every day.

In September daily temperatures still stay high, the skies are often cloudy and humidity level increases. September still sees around 9 hours of sunshine every day. Light breezes bring some refresh to the city at night.
October is hot and mostly sunny. It is less windy than the other months, however still sees many short rains with thunderstorms.
November is the last month before the monsoon season in Singapore. The temperatures are still high, however the number of rainy days increases. It can be often cloudy, but you still can expect about 6 hours of sunshine every day.
December is the first month of the northeast monsoon season and is the wettest month of the year. Rains can be prolonged, but the city still sees about 5 hours of sunshine every day. December is the cloudiest month in Singapore with at least 4 hours of sunshine every day. Both day and night temperatures along with humidity level drop significantly in December.
In January rains are often heavy and prolonged. Sometimes rains last for the whole day. The average daily temperature stays above 25°C. Most of the days are cloudy however around 6 hours of sunshine can be still expected during the day.
In February the amount of rainfall drops and more sunny days can be expected. The average temperature stays at 27°C. The skies are often cloudy however you can expect around 6 hours of sunshine every day.
March is the first month after the monsoon season. It sees similar temperatures as the previous months and often cloudy skies. The amount of sunshine increases one hour per day.
April is the month between the two monsoon seasons. It is hot but less humid than during the previous months. April sees around 6 hours of sunshine every day. The chance of rain is high but the rains are typically heavy but short.
