How to find cheap flights to Thailand from Europe
Almost everyday we are searching and publishing cheap flights to Thailand from Europe. This allowed us to notice some trends when certain airlines are likely to reduce prices.
Today we will share these trends with you, the real deal hunters, who wish to know when and where to expect the best flight promotions.
For your convenience in this post we decided to split airlines into two groups according to the seasons in Thailand.
The first group of airlines typically offers cheap flights to Thailand during the high season and the second group offers cheap flights during the low season.
The high season in Thailand is from November until April and the rainy season is from May until October.
Cheap flights to Thailand during the high season (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr)
Let’s start with Scoot, the airline which offers probably the cheapest flights to Thailand from Europe. Scoot is a low-cost airline owned by Singapore Airlines. The company operated direct flights between Athens and Berlin and Singapore. After a short layover in Singapore, travelers can continue their flight directly to such popular Thai destinations as Krabi, Phuket and Bangkok.
Norwegian airlines is another low cost airline which often offers very cheap flights to Thailand from Europe. The company operated direct flights from such large Scandinavian cities like Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen to both Bangkok and Krabi. Cheap connected flights with short layovers in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen are usually offered to Thailand from London, Warsaw, Gdansk, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki.
Aeroflot Russian Airlines is another company which often operates cheap flights to Thailand, to both Bangkok and Phuket, during the high season. The company usually offers flights from Oslo, Helsinki, Tallinn, Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga and other European cities with short layovers in Moscow.
Turkish Airlines also usually offer cheap flights to both Bangkok and Phuket from similar European cities, typically Helsinki, Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga with layovers in Istanbul. Keep in mind, that Turkish Airlines provide a free of charge city tour for passengers travelling internationally with their company with layovers of at least six hours.
Cheap flights to Thailand during the low season (May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct)
Ukraine International Airlines typically offer cheap flights to Thailand with layovers in Kiev during the period between April and October. Usually cheap flights are operated from Prague, Budapest, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Vilnius and Riga.
SunExpress Deutschland airlines, which operate long haul flights for a German low-cost airline, Eurowings, often offer cheap non-stop flights to Thailand, Bangkok, from Dusseldorf in Autumn.
Air France–KLM group this year offered cheap flights to Bangkok from Sofia, Budapest, Warsaw, Krakow and some other large European cities, probably meaning that similar offers can be expected in 2020.
Cheap flights to Thailand during both seasons
Shenzhen Airlines and its parent company Air China often offer very cheap flights to Thailand, to both Bangkok and Phuket, from Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, London, Paris, Milan, Munich, Dusseldorf and many other large European cities with layovers in Chinese cities.
China Eastern Airlines also often offer very cheap flights to Thailand, both Bangkok and Phuket, from larger European cities with layovers in Shanghai.
Please note, that these are only our observations which show reduced flight prices occurring within the last two years. It is likely that most of the airlines mentioned above will keep selling cheaper flights at the same time of the year.
